This policy explains what TopSportsRef (topsportsref.com) collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect very little, we do not sell data, and you can read the whole site without creating an account.
What we collect
Server and security logs. Like nearly every website, our infrastructure records technical details of requests such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. We use these to keep the site fast and to defend it against abuse. Traffic is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes the same technical data as our security and delivery provider.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the name and email address you give us and use them only to send the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Analytics. We measure readership in aggregate to understand which stories matter to you. We do not build individual profiles and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Cookies
We keep cookies to the minimum needed to run the site, such as remembering your language choice and basic security checks. We do not currently use cross-site advertising trackers; if that changes, this policy will be updated first.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. Email [email protected] and we will act on verified requests within thirty days.
Children
The site is a general audience reference service and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with an updated date. Material changes are flagged on the homepage.
